Hanna Valley- Tourist Attraction of Balochishtan


Hanna valley is located about 7 kms from Quetta city. The people living in valley are known as Karraks. In the middle of this valley there is a lake known as Hanna lake which is located about 30 km from Quetta city. If there is no personal conveyance, Careem and taxi are available for travel. Hanna lake is known as one of the most beautiful place in Pakistan. Many people come here for leisure activities and forget their worries and feel fresh. Hanna lake was build in 1894 in British era to provide cheap water to people, to increase underground water level and for irrigation of surrounding land. The lake spreads on 1818 acres of land and has the storage capacity of 320 million gallons of water. During rain and snowfalls the lake is filled with water, but mostly due to lack of rain and snow falls the lake is dry.
Hanna Lake is located in the hills and close to Urak valley which is approximately 17 kms from Quetta. Near Hanna lake there is a restaurant surrounded by pine trees and picnic tables where people can enjoy food and weather.
