Punjab - The Breadbasket of Pakistan.



Among the four provinces of Pakistan, one of them is Punjab . Punjab's name got derived form the Persian words ''panj'' which meant five and ''ab'' which meant water which automatically translates to five waters. Punjab has roads and railways built years ago which connect the neighboring countries such as Afghanistan, India and China. It is the only province which has borders with the other three provinces and has major cities of Pakistan such as Islamabad,Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Multan, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Lahore which is also their capital city. People of Punjab speak Punjabi, which is their native language while the second most spoken language in this province is Sariki. Also being the most  industrialized province of Pakistan,it contributes the most to Pakistan's Gross Domestic Product. Compared with other provinces, Punjab is the most historically significant due to its monuments, tombs, statues. Punjab serves as a very attractive tourist destination and has significant historical places such as the Lahore Fort, Rohtas Fort, Shalimar Gardens, Badshahi Masjid, Minar e Pakistan, Tomb of Jehangir, Noor Mahal and many more. Lahore Fort in Particular, was built back in the Mughal era. In addition, Punjab also has few famous hilly areas such as  Patriata and Bhurban. It also hosts many famous Sikh shrines and Hindu temples built many centuries ago.
